2004 Cingular Bargaining UpdatesHere are some pictures from the mobilization action at the Cingular store on Hulen in Fort Worth on May 7th. Everyone was pleased and while some ask if mobilization actions really work and I will tell you that just minutes after the action broke up a Tentative agreement was reached. You be the judge!

2004 Cingular Bargaining UpdatesSECOND TENTATIVE AGREEMENT REACHED BETWEEN CINGULAR AND CWA DISTRICT 6 5/7/2004 Cingular Wireless and the Communications Workers of America (CWA) District 6 today announced that they have reached a Tentative Agreement on a labor contract covering bargained-for employees in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, and Kansas. The agreement will be presented to Union members for ratification starting next week. "Once again, Cingular and the CWA Have proven that we are capable of working together to reach an agreement in the best interests of employees, the business, and Cingular customers," said Andy Milburn, Vice President of CWA District 6. Cingular Vice President – Human Resources Operations and Labor, Lew Walker, praised the bargaining teams for their quick action to reach an agreement. "The open dialogue and willingness to work together were again highly evident throughout this second bargaining session," said Walker. "We appreciate the hard work of the Bargaining Committees on both sides of the table." Bargaining resumed Thursday, May 6, after a first, Tentative Agreement was not ratified by Union members. Bargained-for employees in CWA District 6 have continued to work under a day-to-day extension of the previous labor contract. CINGULAR BARGAINING FINAL REPORT 5/7/2004 The CWA District 6 Bargaining Committee reached an agreement with Cingular management today. The Tentative Agreement includes: · Establish a multilingual differential in all call centers. · Ratification bonus of $300.00. · Retroactivity from May 2, 2004 · Extension of all Tentative Agreements and Memoranda of Agreements regarding working conditions on March 2, 2004. We will provide additional information at the Cingular Bargaining Unit Meeting on May 11, 2004 in Austin, Texas. Locals are to report the results of their ratification to the District Office by noon Friday, May 28, 2004. As your Bargaining Committee, we support the ratification of this Tentative Agreement. |

2004 Cingular Bargaining UpdatesCINGULAR BARGAINING REPORT #22 5/7/2004 May 6, 2004 The CWA District 6 Bargaining Committee met with Cingular management this morning and late throughout the night. We submitted the following proposals to the Cingular team: 1. Establish a bi-lingual differential. 2. Populate the Customer Service Representative II title in all call centers. 3. Increase wages for all Information System Technicians. 4. Upgrade all Customer Service Representatives to similar wages as Dallas Call Center Representatives. 5. Include retroactive pay from February 29, 2004. 6. Include all previous Tentative Agreements and Memoranda of Agreements. After a detailed discussion, Management requested a recess to evaluate all of the above proposals.
